This is permission to be yourself, though you never needed it.
--- Be weird. Be unique. Be you. ---
What does it mean to be yourself? It means finding what you value, love, and cherish - and then forming your life around those things without worrying about what anyone else thinks.
Every day and every moment, you are given choices; These choices give you the freedom to redefine who you are. YOU decided every day the person you are. Our character is not defined by the opinions of others, our mistakes and failures, or our situation, house, or job. Our character is defined by how we live our life.
You are an amazing being who has come so far.
Whether you have made it through heartache and strife, grief and loss, or just the challenges of being human, be proud of yourself for coming this far.
PLEASE let this be your sign to live your life free of the opinion of others and the weight of the world.
THERE IS ONLY ONE YOU
and that is your superpower!
Unfortunately, when you harness this superpower, you will likely attract the people in this world who are full of darkness. They hide behind masks to deceive others and actively seek to take light from those who live unabashedly as their true selves.
Do not let them take your light.
Remember: You are not the opinion of others. What someone else says about you does not change your life. It only changes your path or your destination if you let it. Living free from worrying about others gives you a unique ability to be an example showing that it is okay to be yourself and to live your life as you design.
One of the best ways to shine bright is to spread your light to others. As Whoopi Goldberg wisely said, "We're here for a reason. I believe a bit of the reason is to throw little torches out to lead people through the dark.”

The POETRY page also has helpful bits of advice.
The NOT ALONE page brings awareness to the very vital reminder: YOU ARE NOT ALONE.
Last but not least, the RESOURCES page offers emergency resources for those struggling with their mental health, grief, substance abuse, and other necessary topics.
